Apple Walnut Bundt cake
Apple walnut bundt cake is a well- balanced satisfying breakfast high in fibre and it contains walnuts which are a great source of Omega. As we know apples are a rich source of vitamin C, pectin, water, and fibre. It is a convenient and healthy breakfast that also helps lowering cholesterol levels.
Why breakfast is so important?

- I always prefer to start the morning like a queen with a heavy and healthy breakfast.
Breakfast is a perfect start to a day of healthy eating if you skip you will feel dizzy and less energetic. A well-balanced breakfast in the form of protein, whole grains, cereals, bread, fresh fruits, and smoothies - gives us that amount of energy and helps to avoid eating a sugar snack that can meet healthy eating goals.
Morning breakfast with a very berry smoothie and an amazing Apple- Walnut cake is one of my favourite breakfast and is a great combination that boosts my energy. I prefer all kinds of nuts but walnuts have an earthy flavour that's why I like them in making delicious bread. ( If you do not like walnuts you can substitute them with other nuts of your choice). Let's start making delicious Apple loaf!
RECIPE OF DELICIOUS APPLE WALNUT BREAD
Ingredients
- 2 grated apples ( red or golden medium size)
- 2 tbsps lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp lemon zest
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey/maple syrup
- 2 tbsp butter, melted ( you can also use margarine*)
- 1 cup milk ( fat or non-fat add more if required)
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups wheat flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- Ground spices ( 2 tsp cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 40 g chopped walnuts or ground walnuts
- 2 tbsp chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
🍎 Preheat an oven to 180°C. Coat a bundt pan with a nonstick cooking spray or parchment paper.
🍎 In a medium bowl, combine the grated apples, lemon juice and lemon zest. Mix well.
🍎 In a large bowl, add brown sugar, honey, butter, milk and egg. Whisk together until well combined and stir in the Apple mixture.
🍎 In a large bowl, sift all the dry ingredients flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Now combine the wet ingredients into dry, gently fold together until well combined. Fold in the walnuts and chocolate chips.
🍎 Pour the batter into a prepared baking pan and bake until golden brown or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. It will take nearly 45-50 minutes.
🍎 Take out the loaf pan and keep it aside for about 10 minutes.
🍎 Before serving chill the apple bread in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour for better taste, cut it into slices and serve with fresh berries with a cup of ice tea or smoothie.
TIPS AND SERVING SUGGESTIONS
- For better texture use grated apples and some chunks of diced apple.
- You can also add ginger powder and apple juice for more flavour and extra moistness.
- You can substitute butter with margarine and walnuts with other nuts.
- You can also cover the top of the bread with a lemon glaze or lemon cream cheese for a rich flavour.
- You can store apple bread for up to one week in an airtight container.
- Serve with exotic berries and nuts.
